Tired of your friends thinking you’re dumb?
Dumb Biz sends an update on dumb startups, business decisions and news every morning that will make you (hopefully) smarter every morning!
You would have never guessed it, another useless Ai tool! As we are seeing Ai companies rise and make record breaking numbers for raising capital, another company tries it’s hand to create a product to grab some cash.
Imagine Keurig for spices but solving a problem that isn’t actually a problem. Spicerr has created an “Ai-Powered smart spice dispenser” that automatically drops spice with the touch of a button.
Have you ever had the problem of being too lazy to pull out a measuring spoon and scoop your spice out in the correct amount so your food tastes good? Me either, it’s not that hard.
I see the idea clearly but don’t see the demand. The long play is to obviously make all of the money on the refill cartridges which I’m sure will be more expensive than a large tub of spice but I don’t see it being sustainable or a business that will really grow past the initial people that order the product.
I can imagine TikTok and social media will push this as a cool kitchen gadget but what are the odds someone will keep using it? Imagine running out of spice in gadget and not just opening up the big tub of basil you have to grab a teaspoon full and realizing it is just as easy.
There could be a decent run of revenue for the first few months as subscriptions will likely be in place but when you have 8 cartridges of ginger stored in your pantry are you going to really keep the auto-order in place?
